I am very very concerned about your agency's seeking an exemption for the regulation of nuclear waste. We already know that low level radiation causes increased cancer risks for human populations and the other effects--such as on the immune system which can result in other types of illnesses--are unstudied. I am also profoundly concerned about the effect of nuclear waste on other living systems--birds, animals, and plants. Please reconsider your position on this and ask the federal government for more research money while you take a precautionary position that does regulate the disposal of nuclear waste. Thank you.
